Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using The Player's Standard platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. For players under 13, a parent or guardian must complete account setup and provide explicit consent.
2. Description of Service
The Player's Standard is a coaching and player development platform that enables sports organizations to:
- Manage teams, rosters, and player profiles
- Upload, tag, and analyze video footage
- Track player statistics and development metrics
- Communicate between coaches, players, and parents
- Schedule practices, games, and events
- Create and assign workouts and drills
The Platform is intended solely for legitimate sports coaching and player development purposes.
3. User Accounts and Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Ensuring that any players under 13 in your organization have parental consent
You must be at least 18 years old to create a coach account. Player accounts for minors under 13 require parental or guardian setup and consent.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Platform only for its intended coaching and player development purposes. You may NOT:
- Use the Platform to harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate any player, coach, or parent
- Upload content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or violates any third-party rights
- Share another user's personal information without their consent
- Upload or share videos of minors for any purpose other than legitimate sports coaching
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use the Platform to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract data from the Platform in bulk
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Use the Platform for any commercial purpose other than your own coaching organization
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards without prior notice.
5. Content Ownership and License
Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform, including videos, photos, and written content ("Your Content"). By uploading content, you grant The Player's Standard a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Platform.
Video Content
You represent and warrant that you have the right to upload any videos or media you share on the Platform, including consent from all individuals appearing in the videos (or their parent/guardian for minors). Do not upload video content you do not own or have permission to use.
Platform Content
The Player's Standard retains ownership of the Platform itself, including its design, code, and all non-user-generated content. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.
Content Removal
You may delete Your Content at any time. We will remove it from our systems within a reasonable period. Some content may remain in backup systems for up to 30 days following deletion.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy includes specific provisions regarding COPPA compliance for users under 13.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- Any specific features will remain available indefinitely
- Data will never be lost (though we take reasonable precautions)
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PLAYER'S STANDARD AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
By You
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at michaelcantucoaching@gmail.com. Upon closure, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we determine your use is harmful to other users or the Platform. We will provide notice where reasonably possible.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, with proceedings conducted in Texas. You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent notice on the Platform.
